What Is Scoliosis?
Scoliosis is an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine. It is most typically diagnosed in childhood or early adolescence. In the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions on the so-called “sagittal” plane, the spine’s natural curves occur. These natural curves situate the head above the pelvis and function as shock absorbers to disperse mechanical stress during movement.
